What is an air source heat pump?

An air source heat pump extracts energy from the outdoor air and uses it to produce heat for the home.

We offer two types of air source heat pump:

Air to water heat pumps

Air to water heat pumps use an outdoor unit to extract heat from the air outside and compress it to a high temperature. The heat generated is used by an indoor unit to create hot water for a traditional pressurised heating and hot water system.

Air to air heat pumps

Air to air systems work in a similar way to air to water heat pumps but instead of generating hot water, they generate hot air. They can also be used to cool air during warmer months. Air purification technology is also beneficial to allergy sufferers.

Air to air heat pumps are particularly suitable for apartments, conservatories, smaller homes and village halls.
