News feeds

What are news feeds?

If you are interested in the latest Worcester news published on this website, subscribing to our FREE news feed service is a new way to quickly and easily get informed.

How do news feeds work?

Rather than having to visit the Worcester website to seek out new announcements, Worcester news can be sent to your computer as and when it gets published to the website.

Better still you can be specific about the news topics you wished to be sent. The different news feed topics can be seen on the right of this page.

The news is not emailed to you so it won’t clog up your inbox.

Where do I see the news?

News feeds are collected into a news reader application.

You can either download a free news reader or use a web browser that has an in-built news reader. Once you have a news reader application you can choose to receive news feeds in from a range of different websites - meaning you can sit back and let the news come in without having to actively search for it on various websites.

Can I stop the feeds?

News readers allow you to control your feed information including stopping news altogether.

How do I get started?

Windows users:

The web browser Internet Explorer 7 supports receiving the feeds directly so simply click on the orange icons and the browser will allow you to subscribe to the feeds at a click of a button. The feeds can be viewed via the browser’s bookmarks.

Alternatively try the news readers Awasu or FeedDemon and then click on the orange icons in this page to begin receiving news. The news reader’s help options will offer further assistance.

Mac OS X users:

Web browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari will allow you to receive the feeds directly so simply click on the orange icons and the browsers will guide you through receiving the feeds quickly.

Alternatively try the news readers: Newsfire or NetNewsWire.
