- As part of the “Rely On” campaign we took two ex-England sports stars back to their youth leagues
- The sports stars teamed up with Worcester representatives to keep parents warm on the sidelines
- The activity kicked off a nationwide search for other deserving teams
We recently furthered the ‘Rely On’ message by bringing two ex-England sports stars back to their grass roots clubs.
Former football star and ‘I’m a Celebrity’ contestant, Wayne Bridge, visited the league he played in as a child in Hampshire, to surprise Littleton Juniors FC at their Sunday game. And ex-England rugby union champion and ‘Dancing on Ice’ winner, Kyran Bracken, joined his first ever rugby club, Firwood Waterloo FC in Liverpool.
The sporting legends joined Worcester representatives to hand out hot drinks, bacon sandwiches and warm blankets plus, a £1,000 cheque to both clubs.
The activity kicked of a nationwide search for other deserving sports teams who want to treat their supportive parents to a surprise on the sidelines when the season starts again in September.
